Miami Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones Announces “Shop, Dine and Explore” campaign and two festivals coming up in June
WHAT: Join Miami District 5 Commissioner Spence-Jones for the official launch of the “Shop, Dine and Explore” campaign in partnership with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. The conference will also announce the upcoming 2nd Annual Overtown Rhythm and Arts Festival and the American Black Film Festival taking place in June.
The “Shop, Dine and Explore” campaign, which aims to increase the number of visitors to the City of Miami and its unique cultural destinations, will include a new city trolley tour, rolling out June 23, which will service visitors and residents.
The trolley tour kicks off an exciting weekend for Miami! The American Black Film Festival will take place June 20-23 and festival goers will be able to take guided trolley tours in Historic Overtown, Little Havana and Little Haiti for an authentic cultural experience!
On Saturday, June 23, Overtown visitors and residents will enjoy the 2nd Annual Overtown Rhythm and Arts Festival, featuring delicious food, local art and local and national musical artists. During the press conference, the festival members and Commissioner Spence-Jones will reveal the headliner performers and unveil this year’s festival poster.

WHO: Elected officials invited to attend include Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado, Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, Miami Commissioners Wifredo “Willy” Gort, Frank Carollo, Francis Suarez and Marc Sarnoff.
Other special guests include William Talbert, President of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau; Overtown Rhythm and Arts Festival Board Members; SEOPW CRA Executive Director Clarence Woods; and Jeff Friday, Film Life Inc., producer of the American Black Film Festival.
