The First Annual Overtown Rhythm & Arts Festival

The multiple Grammy award-winning Jazz trumpeter Roy Hargrove headlined the star-studded stage of the inaugural Overtown Rhythm and Arts Festival, held in the main street of NW 3rd Avenue, between 9th and 11th Streets in Miami’s Historic Overtown District, on Saturday April 9, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Luther “Luke” Campbell was named King of the inaugural event

Joining Hargrove on stage were the renowned Nicole Yarling 4-Tet, Second Chance Gospel Choir, SASA African Dance Theater, Jazz ensemble Instant Attraction, Booker T. Washington High School Marching Band, and the South Florida Hip Hop group Vagabonds.

Thousands of people enjoyed the free street festival, discovering all that Overtown has to offer, from great music to delicious food and exceptional artwork.
